Paint Thickness Meter Gauge BIT-3003 | Car Paint Test Checker
The BIT-3003 Paint Thickness Meter is a reliable mechanical tool designed to measure paint and varnish thickness on vehicles. With an accuracy of ±25 microns, it helps identify hidden repainting, filler work, or accident repairs that are not visible to the naked eye.
This tester works without batteries or calibration, making it durable and maintenance-free. It is suitable for vehicles made of steel and galvanized steel, allowing quick verification of original or repaired paint surfaces.
Color-Coded Micron Scale
The BIT-3003 features an easy-to-read, multi-color scale suitable for both beginners and professionals:
-
Blue (0–100 μm): Very thin paint layer or polished surface
-
Green (100–200 μm): Original factory paint (in some newer cars, up to 180 μm may indicate light repainting)
-
Yellow (200–300 μm): Repainted surface with an additional paint layer
-
Red (300–520 μm): Repaired metal surface with filler and repaint
-
Black (520+ μm): Heavy putty and thick paint layers (approx. 0.5 mm filler)
How It Works
Place the magnetic tip on a clean vehicle surface, then slowly pull the tester straight away. As the magnet releases, the color scale appears. The highest visible color indicates the paint thickness, and the scale retracts automatically after measurement.
